Schedule

January 5th, 2009 |
Francis Hopkins, founder
and CEO of Under a Foot Plant Company and The
Steppables line, will talk with us about Steppable
ground covers. The idea of walking on plants may seem
a bit unusual, however Fran’s marketing approach has been to
bring people and plants together in a fun way to find
solutions in the landscape. We’ve all been told for years to
get off the plants!!! Now, because of STEPABLES®, people are
not just walking on them, they are using them for park
trails, RV pads, lawn replacements, outdoor yoga areas,
patios, children’s play areas, atriums, and a plethora of
other uses.
Fran will give us an overall view of the STEPABLES® that are
good for the Northwest and how best to use and abuse these
marvelous little ground covering heroes.
Dinner and networking at
6:30;
business meeting at 7:00; program at 7:30.
Jenny Dunn will again be providing food for our meeting
- Thank you Jenny!! Please RSVP to her
by Fri., Jan. 2.

A Group of ANLD members designed a
garden to showcase new plant introductions for 2008 at the Oregon
Association of Nurseries Farwest Show. The garden did a great job of
showcasing the new plant varieties plus showed off ANLD's talents to a
wide range of green industry professionals.
