Monthly Meetings- Meetings are held at 7:00pm the first Monday of
each month from September to May (no meeting in December) at Tigard Friends Community Church,
15800 SW Hall Boulevard, Tigard, Oregon. See below for
map. Meetings include educational
speakers, forums, design presentations and a chance to meet others in
the landscaping profession. Study Groups- East-side and West-side study groups meet monthly in members' homes to discuss topics of interest in a smaller setting. Networking and Volunteer Opportunities- The ANLD offers opportunities for business networking and creative interaction with landscape professionals. We encourage members to volunteer on one of our committees or on the board. We rely on our members to continue our fine programs. Nursery and Garden Tours- During July through August, ANLD meetings move outdoors. Members visit nurseries, designer's gardens and other outstanding gardens, focusing on topics from previous programs. Annual Educational Seminar- Each year we sponsor a day-long workshop developed to assist independent landscape designers with the challenges of running a business, and other related topics. Some past topics have included: "How to Develop a Business Plan", "Sales and Marketing", "Creative Collaboration with Contractors", and "Business Organization". Quarterly Newsletter- Our newsletter features informative articles on a broad range of topics related to landscaping, from interesting plants and how to use them in a design, to how to run our businesses more effectively. Most of the articles are written by our own membership. Booths and Display Gardens- ANLD has had display booths at various Garden Shows to inform the public about our organization and the role of Landscape Designers. We also have had the privilege of creating display gardens to illustrate our craft, and introduce interesting plants to the public. Our fee for membership is only $40 per year, or $35 for existing members who renew before January, and $30 for students. Just fill out an application and send it in to join today.
